We’re in a tsunami in terms of our public health crisis, economic crisis, and markets crisis. Governments are working as fast as possible to catch up to the tsunami that is surging in front of us. There are three important spheres that need to be addressed:
1. Public Health
2. Economy
3. Markets
We need moonshots for our planet right now to solve this crisis. We need a Manhattan Project scale gathering of the most brilliant scientists to find the treatments, the testing, the vaccines, new technologies for ventilators, medical ships and hotels converted into hospitals, we need an all hands on deck scale.
In terms of the economy, we need a martial plan in which world leaders come together and unite in concert as one. A trillion dollars a week of impact is happening to our economy, people are at home and businesses are stopped — there is nothing that we’ve seen in our lifetimes that resembles what we are seeing now.
Containment is not enough. We need these martial plans, we need this Manhattan Project for an army of scientists coming together. We need at home and real-time testing for millions. The technologies are out there, we need to get them accelerated. To develop vaccines takes time. While discovery, testing, and production could be 12–18 months, in the interim, all of these other solutions need to be happening in parallel processing. There is no time for politics as everyone has one jersey on.
